Jeonnam Yeosu and Gokseong Selected for 'Pilot Project to Strengthen Health and Welfare Delivery System'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Province announced that two cities/counties, Yeosu and Gokseong, were selected in the Ministry of Health and Welfare's 'Pilot Project to Strengthen the Health and Welfare Delivery System' contest this year.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare selected eight cities/counties/districts nationwide through this contest, and among them, two cities/counties from Jeonnam were selected, earning the honor of the highest number of selections.
The project budget will be implemented within a total budget of 580 million KRW per city/county, with 290 million KRW in national funds and 50 million KRW in provincial funds provided respectively.
The 'Pilot Project to Strengthen the Health and Welfare Delivery System' is a project where local governments independently establish plans to reorganize the delivery system to solve welfare issues in their regions and provide integrated services needed by residents.
In particular, user-centered health and welfare services are provided, including the establishment of one-stop health and welfare counseling centers and the expansion of integrated case managers to support public-private cooperative comprehensive care services.

Kang Young-gu, Director of the Health and Welfare Bureau of Jeonnam Province, said, "With the selection of this project, we will be able to provide integrated welfare services such as health, housing, and care needed by local residents," and added, "We will actively support efforts to minimize blind spots."
