Siwoo Kim 19th "Top 10 in sight~"... Wolanski Leads for Third Day
3M Open Day 3: Defending Champion Wolf Tied 13th at 3 Under Par, Choi Kyung-ju Tied 33rd
[Asia Economy Golf Specialist Reporter Kim Hyun-jun] Kim Si-woo (25, CJ Logistics, photo) continues his march toward the 'Top 10'.
On the 26th (Korean time), at the Twin Cities Golf Club in Blaine, Minnesota, USA (par 71, 7,431 yards), during the third day of the PGA Tour 3M Open (total prize money $6.6 million), he shot 3-under par to stand tied for 19th place (9-under par 204). Richy Werenski and Michael Thompson (both USA) share the lead (15-under par 198), while Charl Schwartzel (South Africa) and Tony Finau (USA) are chasing in a tie for 3rd place, 2 strokes behind (13-under par 200).
Kim Si-woo recorded 4 birdies and 1 bogey. He started strong with 'stepping stone birdies' on holes 2 and 4, and recovered from a bogey on the 5th hole (par 4) with an eagle-like birdie on the 6th hole (par 5), showing an impressive early spurt. Unfortunately, he then parred 8 consecutive holes. Despite activating his 'needle-like iron shots' with a green hit rate of 77.78%, his mid-range putting failed to drop, causing some frustration. After sticking his second shot close to the hole on the 15th hole (par 4) for another birdie, he looks forward to the final 4th round.

He is only 2 strokes behind the tied 6th place (11-under par 202) including Ryan Moore, making a 'Top 10' challenge very feasible. Defending champion Matthew Wolff (USA) is aiming to defend his title from tied 13th place (10-under par 203). 'Tank' K.J. Choi (50) added 3 more strokes to stand tied for 33rd place (7-under par 206), while Lee Kyung-hoon (29, CJ Logistics) finished tied for 62nd place (2-under par 211). Although he made 5 birdies, 3 bogeys and 1 double bogey wiped out his score gains.
