BJ Kim Okbun Exposed to Hidden Camera Crime During Live Broadcast... "Will Report" Amid 'Outfit Criticism' Controversy
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Park Hee-eun] BJ Kim Ok-bun, who was conducting a real-time internet broadcast, expressed shock over being a victim of illegal filming of her body and simultaneously voiced anger regarding the 'clothing controversy' related to secondary damage.
On the 24th, Kim Ok-bun was live streaming while working part-time at a PC bang in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province.
Later, as Kim Ok-bun was tidying up the PC bang seats, a man approached her and inserted a camera under her skirt. This was exposed live on the broadcast. Kim Ok-bun, unaware of the situation at the time, continued the broadcast. However, viewers informed her, saying "It seems like a hidden camera was used," and after checking the CCTV, she reported the man. The man in his 20s who filmed the hidden camera was arrested on the spot and is currently under investigation at the Siheung Police Station in Gyeonggi for violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes by using a camera, identified as Mr. A.
Afterwards, Kim Ok-bun posted a message titled "Regarding today's hidden camera incident" on her AfreecaTV broadcast, sharing her feelings. She said, "There are more words of comfort and curses toward the hidden camera criminal, but there are also comments saying it was fabricated and blaming my outfit," adding, "It is not 100% fabricated. If it were fabricated, I would be charged with false accusation, delete my ID, and quit broadcasting. I am not a foolish person who would fabricate something like this just for publicity."
Regarding the reactions criticizing her clothing, she stated, "Being a BJ is my primary job, and the part-time work is content, so naturally, I have to pay attention to my outfit," and emphasized, "The comments were ridiculous. Saying things like 'bar girl' and 'it was natural to be filmed because of the outfit' is victim blaming, which is absurd. Those who say such things are no different from today's hidden camera criminal or keyboard warriors?they are committing the same crime."
Finally, Kim Ok-bun said, "I will report everything," and added, "I understand why celebrities and BJs get stressed from comments. As a victim, it is infuriating and absurd to be insulted instead."
She continued, "Still, there are more words of comfort, so I am thankful for the concern."
