Yeonggwang-gun Extends 'Agricultural Machinery Rental Fee Reduction' Until December
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeon Seong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Jun-seong) announced on the 24th that the 50% discount period on agricultural machinery rental fees, implemented to alleviate the management burden on farmers due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, will be extended until the end of December.
Since April, the county has eased the financial burden on farms struggling due to COVID-19 by reducing agricultural machinery rental fees worth approximately 37 million KRW for farmers who rented machinery (a cumulative total of over 3,500 times) to date.
This measure is expected to greatly help reduce farm management costs and assist with farming labor for farmers facing difficulties due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation.
The discount criteria remain the same as before, limited to "one agricultural machine per farm per day," and it applies to all renters without any separate application process.
Additionally, if overlapping discount regulations apply, such as for national merit recipients, only the highest discount rate will be applied.

An official from the Agricultural Technology Center said, "Since there is a concentration of rental agricultural machinery usage depending on the farming schedule, we strongly recommend advance reservations to avoid inconvenience in using rental machinery," and added, "Please strictly follow safety rules to prevent agricultural machinery accidents."
