Seocho-gu 'Seoripul Youth Live' Youth Artists Contest
10 Youth Artist Teams Selected for Performance Opportunities After Losing Stage Chances Due to COVID-19
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seocho-gu (Mayor Eunhee Cho), together with the Seocho Cultural Foundation and Hyundai Motor Company Southern Regional Headquarters, is promoting a call for young artists to participate in the untact online cultural performance "Seoripul Youth Live," aimed at discovering talented young artists and revitalizing the stagnant performance venues.
"Seoripul Youth Live" is an untact cultural program that selects 10 young artist teams who have lost opportunities to perform on stage for a long time due to COVID-19, provides them with performance opportunities, and offers untact performance videos through a YouTube channel.
Any talented young artist aged 19 to 39 in various music genres can apply for this "Seoripul Youth Live."
For the 10 teams selected through the "Seoripul Youth Live" call, performance fees ranging from 500,000 KRW to a maximum of 1,000,000 KRW per team will be paid based on evaluation.
Additionally, profiles and performance videos of outstanding performance teams will be provided to various performance planning companies, and incentives such as priority booking for performances planned by the district when hiring young artists will be offered.
This "Seoripul Youth Live" is expected to be a great opportunity for young artists to promote their names and skills through untact live performances.
Moreover, the untact live performance video recordings will be conducted at various private performance venues within the nation's only music culture district, which is expected to breathe new life into the stagnant performance venues.
Youth artists wishing to participate in "Seoripul Youth Live" can download the application form from the Seocho Cultural Foundation website, complete it, and submit it along with a submission video of about 5 minutes per team via email by August 12. Regardless of genre, including classical, gugak (traditional Korean music), indie bands, etc., 10 final teams will be selected and broadcast on the YouTube channel.
The district plans to continue promoting various untact cultural projects amid the prolonged COVID-19 situation to contribute to revitalizing the cultural and artistic community in stagnation and to present high-quality performances to residents.
In particular, various untact cultural performance opportunities such as the "Seocho Chamber Music Festival" and the "Online Seocho Friday Concert" will be provided to young artists struggling due to COVID-19.
