Donggang University-Samil Construction "Let's Nurture True Talents Together"

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Donggang University and Samil Construction Co., Ltd., a mid-sized construction company in the Honam region, have joined hands to nurture talent.

Donggang University announced on the 23rd that it recently signed an industry-academia cooperation agreement with Samil Construction Co., Ltd.

On the same day, the Samil Paraview Cultural Scholarship Foundation donated 10 million KRW in scholarships to Donggang University for talent development.

The agreement and scholarship donation ceremony were attended by Donggang University President Lee Minsook and other university officials, as well as Samil Construction CEO and Samil Paraview Cultural Scholarship Foundation Chairman Choi Gapryeol, Vice President Kim Maengsu, and Executive Director Lee Hakjae.

Also present was Lee Haengman, head of the Gwangju Regional Headquarters of the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, who had formed an industry-academia cooperation with Donggang University in April last year, adding prestige to the event.

According to the agreement, Donggang University and Samil Construction will actively collaborate through industry-academia cooperation to cultivate practical professionals and create a satisfying employment culture for students by jointly utilizing corporate training, field internships, and equipment.

They also plan to take the lead in establishing a cooperative system among industry, academia, research, and related organizations for regional development.

Meanwhile, Samil Construction, established in 1995 as a mid-sized local construction company, actively engages in social contribution activities by donating development funds and scholarships to Donggang University and local governments.

President Lee Minsook stated, “Although the university and companies operate in different fields, they share the common goal of nurturing talent and regional development, and each is fulfilling its role faithfully. I hope this occasion becomes an opportunity for leap and coexistence.”
