Rep. Lee Hyung-seok Proposes Two Amendments to Strengthen Children's Traffic Safety
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Rep. Lee Hyung-seok (Democratic Party of Korea, Gwangju Buk-gu Eul) announced on the 23rd that he has proposed two partial amendments to the 'Road Traffic Act' to strengthen children's traffic safety.
The amendment bill, which Rep. Lee proposed as the main sponsor, includes provisions to clearly identify to drivers that the road is a children's protection zone by marking road surface paint from the starting point to the end point of the children's protection zone road.
Additionally, roads within apartment complexes equipped with barriers, which were not previously included under the Road Traffic Act, will be brought within the legal framework to impose pedestrian protection obligations on drivers.

Rep. Lee said, "To minimize the occurrence of children's traffic accidents, I have proposed the 'Children's Traffic Safety Package Act' as the main sponsor," adding, "Along with promoting the bill, we plan to install a 'Children's Traffic Safety Education Center' linked to the newly planned Gwangju Driver's License Test Center to further strengthen traffic safety for children, who will be responsible for the future generation."
