Education Superintendent Lee Jae-jung: "Concerns Over Education Quality Due to COVID-19, Measures Must Be Taken"
[Asia Economy (Yangpyeong) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Lee Jae-jung, Superintendent of Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, expressed concerns about the decline in education quality due to COVID-19 and urged frontline education offices to prepare measures such as improving online classes and operating vacation camps.
On the 23rd, Superintendent Lee attended the 'Education Policy Council for Education Directors' held at Hill House in Yangpyeong, where he gave a lecture on realizing future education after COVID-19 and shared local issues.
At the event, Superintendent Lee analyzed, "Operating demand-centered education training centers considering regional accessibility, campuses combining remote classes utilizing closed schools, offering convergence curriculum and credit system operation, and integrated middle-high schools can become the foundation for realizing new future education after COVID-19."
He also urged, "In the ongoing COVID-19 situation, please work together to manage the quality of online classes on site, present customized assignments for each student, and operate camps during vacations to prevent a decline in student academic achievement."
The council was organized to share local educational issues in response to the COVID-19 situation and find solutions together, with education directors from 25 education support offices in the province attending.
