[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] One additional confirmed case related to Gwangju patient number 192, whose infection route is unclear and is a hidden patient, has been reported. The number of confirmed cases related to patient 192 has increased to seven.
According to health authorities on the 23rd, a woman in her 70s, Ms. A, residing in a house in Yangdong, Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, tested positive for COVID-19 this morning.
Ms. A was confirmed to have had contact with patient 196. Patient 196 is the older sister of patient 192, who is a hidden patient.
The health authorities transferred Ms. A to Chonnam National University Hospital and are conducting an epidemiological investigation to identify her movements and contacts.
Meanwhile, since the second wave of COVID-19 began in Gwangju on the 27th of last month, 168 people have tested positive.
By infection route, there are 40 cases related to Gwangju Sarang Church, 32 at Geumyang Officetel, 30 at Ilgok Central Church, 14 at Gwangju Exam Academy, 14 in the badminton club, 8 at Gwangneuksa Temple, 11 contacts from other cities (Songpa patient 60), 7 contacts with confirmed patients (Gwangju patient 192), 8 imported cases, and 3 under investigation.
By age group, there are 5 under 10 years old, 6 in their teens, 6 in their 20s, 12 in their 30s, 22 in their 40s, 35 in their 50s, 46 in their 60s, 21 in their 70s, 8 in their 80s, and 5 in their 90s.
