Semiconductor Equipment Company 'CN One' to Establish Base in Yongin
[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Semiconductor equipment company CNW Co., Ltd. is establishing its base in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.
The city of Yongin announced that CNW Co., Ltd. began site development work on 20,000㎡ in the area of San 11-31, Jigok-dong, Giheung-gu on the 23rd.
Founded in 2008, CNW Co., Ltd. manufactures atomic layer deposition (ALD) equipment, which applies thin films necessary for drawing circuits on wafers during semiconductor manufacturing processes.
The company supplies to domestic and international large corporations and research institutions such as Samsung Electronics, Seoul National University Semiconductor Joint Research Center, and Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, achieving sales of 10.1 billion KRW last year.
The company plans to invest 15 billion KRW here to relocate its headquarters, manufacturing plant, and research institute, and to establish a subsidiary called Albert Co., Ltd.
Following the establishment of the technology center of the global semiconductor equipment company Lam Research in Jigok-dong, Giheung-gu, this company’s move-in is expected to form a semiconductor equipment cluster.
Baek Gun-gi, mayor of Yongin, said, "We are pleased to attract the 116th semiconductor-related company in the jurisdiction," and emphasized, "We will expand the attraction of material, parts, and equipment manufacturing companies centered on the semiconductor cluster to build a foundation for leaping forward as a world-class semiconductor city."
