Hwasun-gun Successfully Completes 'Summer Green On-Site Farming Consulting'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Young-gyun] Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gu Chung-gon) announced on the 22nd that the 'Summer On-site Farming Consulting' was successfully completed with residents' positive response.
The consulting aimed to resolve farming difficulties experienced in rural areas during the summer season, with 406 farmers from 65 villages participating from the 22nd of last month to the 10th of this month.
The county provided education on essential farming techniques needed in summer, including ▲core cultivation techniques for major summer crops such as rice, chili peppers, and sesame ▲crop-specific coping methods ▲pest and disease control methods, and listened to the difficulties faced by farmers.
Initially, the education was conducted through an on-site approach by visiting villages directly, but as COVID-19 spread again during the education period, it was switched to a non-face-to-face method.
The non-face-to-face consulting was carried out through distribution of teaching materials by village and phone contact with village heads, and when face-to-face interaction was necessary during consulting, quarantine guidelines such as ▲wearing masks ▲temperature checks ▲social distancing in daily life were strictly followed.

An official from the Agricultural Technology Center said, “As group education is difficult due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation, we will expand non-face-to-face farming technology guidance using card news, videos, posters, etc. We will strengthen on-site consulting to improve farming techniques and support to prevent disaster damage.”
