[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) will conduct a joint night inspection by public and private sectors targeting 1,828 high-risk and multi-use facilities until August 22.
This joint inspection will focus on areas with a high concentration of multi-use facilities such as Konkuk University Food Street, Yangkkochi Street, Neungmaru, and Migaro Food Street, checking ▲mandatory mask-wearing for users and workers ▲availability of hand sanitizers ▲social distancing ▲visitor log maintenance, among other measures.
First, starting from July 21, the district formed a joint inspection team of public and private sectors to inspect 1,214 multi-use facilities located in the four food street areas of Gwangjin-gu: Konkuk University Food Street, Yangkkochi Street, Neungmaru, and Migaro.
The joint inspection team consists of 96 members including the Gwangjin-gu Volunteer Crime Prevention Unit, the Facilities Management Corporation, and public officials, organized into groups of three, conducting inspections four times a week (Tuesday to Friday) for five weeks until August 21.
Additionally, special inspection teams focusing on high-risk facilities have been separately organized: one for entertainment venues (such as emotional pubs, hunting bars, pojangmacha, etc.) and another for cultural and sports facilities (karaoke rooms, PC rooms, sports facilities, etc.) to operate more systematically and professionally.
The special inspection teams for entertainment and cultural/sports facilities began operations on the 14th and will continue for six weeks until August 22.
The entertainment facilities special inspection team is composed of public officials, police officers, and consumer monitors, conducting night inspections (8 PM to 12 AM) five times a week (Tuesday to Saturday) targeting 99 entertainment venues including entertainment bars, danran bars, emotional pubs, and hunting pojangmacha.
The cultural and sports facilities special inspection team consists of public officials, Gwangjin-gu Sports Association members, and sports club representatives, inspecting 515 cultural and sports facilities such as karaoke rooms, PC rooms, and sports facilities.
Inspections are conducted in the afternoon (2 PM to 6 PM) on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and at night (8 PM to 11 PM) on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, thoroughly verifying compliance with quarantine rules.
For high-risk facilities, if inspection items are not complied with, correction orders and warnings will be issued, followed by assembly bans or legal actions if necessary.
Mayor Kim Seon-gap of Gwangjin-gu said, “Gwangjin-gu has the second lowest number of COVID-19 confirmed cases among 25 autonomous districts. This was possible thanks to the mature civic consciousness and cooperation of all residents.” He added, “This joint public-private inspection also holds great significance in forming a consensus with the local community and overcoming the crisis together.”
