Professor Hong Helen's Research Team at Seoul Women's University Wins Best Paper Award at the Korea Computer Congress
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hyun-joo] Seoul Women's University announced on the 22nd that the research team led by Professor Hong Helen from the Department of Software Convergence received the Excellent Paper Award in the Software and Applications field of the Journal of the Korean Institute of Information Scientists and Engineers at the general meeting of the '2020 Korea Computer Congress,' held online by the Korean Institute of Information Scientists and Engineers. The awarded paper by Professor Hong Helen's research team, titled “Automatic Tooth Separation through Brightness Value Cost Function Optimization-Based Tooth Separation Line and Plane Search in Craniofacial CBCT Images,” proposed a method to automatically distinguish individual teeth, which are arranged differently for each patient, in craniofacial CBCT images for orthodontic and implant procedure planning.
