Looking for Designers to Lead K-Fashion... 16th SFDF Designer Recruitment
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Samsung Fashion Design Fund (SFDF) announced on the 21st that it is accepting applications for the 16th SFDF Award-winning designers until the 11th of next month.
The SFDF Award-winning designers will receive sponsorship of $100,000 (approximately 120 million KRW) and be given the opportunity to exhibit their collections at the flagship store of 'Beaker,' a leading domestic contemporary multi-shop located in Cheongdam.
Established in 2005 by Samsung C&T Fashion Division, SFDF is the nation's premier designer support program. Over the past 15 years, it has produced 24 Korean designer teams recognized in the global market and has sponsored a total of $3.4 million (approximately 4 billion KRW).
Eligibility for SFDF support requires Korean emerging fashion designers who participate in overseas collections or have overseas sales records, operate independent brands launched within the last five years, and there are no restrictions based on age or educational background.
Applications can be submitted online through the official SFDF website. Evaluation is conducted by internal experts, including the head of design and directors from Samsung C&T Fashion Division, along with external fashion industry professionals. After a rigorous review of submitted materials such as brand information, designer introductions, lookbooks, and samples, the winners will be announced in November.
