[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] “Since more than 54% of the housing in Yangcheon-gu consists of multi-family housing, efforts to create a pleasant and safe residential environment for multi-family housing and to improve the working conditions of security workers are absolutely necessary.”

Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) is promoting the second half of 2020 multi-family housing support project to create a pleasant and safe residential environment and to support community activation and maintenance of public facilities to promote communication and harmony among residents.

So far, Yangcheon-gu has supported various multi-family housing projects, including 700 million KRW for 62 complexes and 79 projects in the first half of the year, and 170 million KRW for outdoor security lighting electricity fees for 189 complexes. It has actively supported the installation of air conditioners in security offices, automatic opening and closing devices for rooftop emergency exits, and repairs of children's playgrounds to consider security workers and create a safe and resident-friendly complex environment.

Also, on May 22, it promoted the signing of a 'Coexistence Community Culture Creation Agreement' with 22 complexes and apartment security workers, making efforts to create a multi-family housing culture based on mutual respect and consideration.

The purpose was to make Yangcheon a good place to work for everyone, including security workers who are also someone's family.

In the second half of the year, 130 million KRW will be invested in support for multi-family housing in a total of 25 areas, including ▲CCTV maintenance ▲children's playground maintenance ▲outdoor sewage repair ▲installation and improvement of energy-saving facilities. Complexes that were not supported in the first half and small-scale aging multi-family housing will be selected as priority support targets, with up to 20 million KRW supported per complex (up to 50 million KRW separately supported for the multi-family housing parking lot expansion support project).

In this support project, the installation of air conditioners in security offices, expansion of multi-family housing parking lots, and repair of disaster safety and hazardous facilities have been selected as district-recommended projects and will be supported. Applications for support will be accepted until July 31, and after on-site investigations and deliberations, the supported complexes will be selected in August.

We will expand the scope of Yangcheon-gu multi-family housing support projects to meet the times and environment, listen to and review proposals for projects directly needed by residents, and do our best to continuously improve residents' living conditions.”
