Seoul City Supports 'Home Repairs' in Areas Removed from Redevelopment Zones... Easy Lookup Available
[Asia Economy Reporter Onyu Lim] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 19th that it will designate areas such as maintenance zone cancellation areas and alleyway regeneration project sites as ‘Housing Performance Improvement Support Zones’ to revitalize home repairs in aging low-rise residential areas. The city plans to provide subsidies and low-interest loans to residents living in these areas when they carry out home repairs.
If you are curious whether your home qualifies for Seoul’s home repair support, you can check on Seoul’s ‘Jipsuri.com’. By simply entering your home address on the website, you can immediately confirm eligibility. Until now, confirmation was only possible by visiting the district office in person or through phone consultation. Additionally, the Housing Performance Improvement Support Zones eligible for Seoul’s home repair support policies can be viewed at a glance on the map.
The Housing Performance Improvement Support Zones are designated by the city according to the “Seoul Metropolitan Government Ordinance on Support for Home Repairs in Low-rise Residential Areas.” The target areas include ▲planned sites for managed residential environment improvement projects ▲maintenance zone cancellation areas ▲scenic and elevated districts ▲alleyway regeneration project areas, where more than 60% of low-rise houses are over 20 years old since approval for use. Currently, 108 zones (22.6㎢) have been designated. If home repairs are carried out in a detached house within a Housing Performance Improvement Support Zone, Seoul provides up to 15 million KRW in subsidies through the Seoul Beautiful House Project and low-interest loans of up to 60 million KRW at 0.7% interest.
