Softball Coach in Naju Accused of Repeated Sexual Harassment of High School Girl
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] In Naju, Jeollanam-do, a softball coach has been accused of repeatedly sexually harassing three female high school students, prompting an investigation by the Jeollanam-do Office of Education and the police.
According to the Jeollanam-do Office of Education on the 19th, coach A repeatedly sexually harassed the female high school students he was teaching from August last year until the end of May.
The victims confided in a counseling teacher about the incidents, and the school immediately reported the matter to the police and the provincial education office.
It is known that A engaged in inappropriate physical contact while conducting a training camp in Yeosu to establish a softball team at a high school in Naju.
A school official stated, “A is not an employee hired by the school but a coach hired independently by parents. When the school notified that practice was impossible due to COVID-19, they went on their own to Yeosu for training, and this issue occurred, which is regrettable.”
The Jeollanam-do Office of Education has completely halted the establishment of the softball team at the school and reported A’s sexual harassment to the Ministry of Education and the Korean Sports & Olympic Committee.
