Jeonnam Governor Kim Young-rok said in an emergency announcement on the same day, "The spread of regional infections in the Gwangju and Jeonnam areas has not subsided, so we cannot be complacent. Recently, all regional infection cases in Jeonnam have been due to contact with confirmed cases in the Gwangju area," adding, "We will extend the 'Social Distancing Level 2,' which has been in effect since the 6th, until the 25th to implement strong quarantine measures."
He continued, "The best prevention against the coronavirus is wearing a mask," and urged, "Although the weather is hot, please always wear a mask and strictly practice maintaining a distance of at least 2 meters."
He also emphasized, "To prevent the spread of COVID-19, refrain from visiting other regions, going out, small gatherings, and entering enclosed, crowded, and close-contact places," and stressed, "If you have a fever, sore throat, or cold symptoms, do not go to work or school and immediately consult with a public health center."
