View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] The police investigating the circumstances of the death of the late Park Won-soon, former mayor of Seoul, plan to review call records along with digital forensics of his mobile phone.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency stated on the 15th, "Along with forensic investigation, the process of applying for a communication warrant to verify the deceased's mobile phone call records is also underway simultaneously."
The police discovered and are currently holding one mobile phone at the location where former Mayor Park was found dead. The model is a new iPhone, reportedly locked. Due to the characteristics of the iPhone model, unlocking it could take at least several months.
This mobile phone is considered a 'smoking gun' containing information related to allegations of sexual harassment against former Mayor Park or his activities prior to death. It is also expected to provide clues to resolve suspicions such as whether the fact of Park's accusation was actually leaked and, if leaked, through whom it was conveyed.
