Found Dead on the 11th, Police Investigating Incident Details
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jae-hee] A public official belonging to Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk, was found dead after leaving a text message implying sexual violence, prompting the police to launch an investigation.
According to Imsil-gun and Imsil Police Station on the 14th, at around 5:30 p.m. on the 11th, a colleague found A (49, female), a public official at Imsil-gun Office, dead at her home and reported it to the police station.
Before her death, A reportedly sent a text message to an acquaintance saying, "It seems difficult because I have to work with a senior who committed sexual violence 10 years ago due to personnel reshuffling."
The acquaintance who received the message, unable to contact A who was showing symptoms of depression, went to her home but found the door locked and reported it to the police.
The police who responded to the report found no signs of external intrusion and are considering that A made an extreme choice.
An official from Imsil Police Station said, "We are currently investigating by calling witnesses to understand the circumstances of the death."
