"Shin Hyun-jun, Propofol Use Over 10 Years Ago"... Manager Accused of 'Gapjil' Reports
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Former manager Kim, who claimed to have been abused by actor Shin Hyun-joon (51), has accused him to the police, raising suspicions of illegal propofol use in the past.
On the 14th, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced that they had received a complaint from Kim requesting an investigation into "circumstances suggesting that Shin Hyun-joon illegally used propofol around 2010."
Through the complaint, Kim stated, "Shin Hyun-joon was investigated by the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office in 2010 for excessive administration of propofol while receiving treatment at a dermatology clinic in Gangnam-gu," and requested, "Please investigate how the case was resolved."
The police plan to review the complaint, verify how the prosecution concluded the case, and decide whether to close the case based on the principle of ne bis in idem. Since the statute of limitations for drug use charges unrelated to medical purposes is seven years, the police will also examine when the alleged use occurred to determine if the statute of limitations has expired.
