I.M Lee Yeon-i Plans Chinese Online Concert with 'Youth Summoning Project'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] I Am Eunyeoni will present Hallyu content within this year to the Chinese entertainment market following the lifting of the ban on Korean content.
On the 14th, I Am Eunyeoni announced that the planned program "Youth Summon Project" (tentative title) will be streamed on popular Chinese online video platforms such as Bilibili and Tencent (V.QQ). I Am Eunyeoni's affiliate, I Am E International, is currently negotiating with these Chinese platforms regarding the broadcast of the Youth Summon Project.
The Youth Summon Project is a variety show featuring about 30 male stars performing various acts, with behind-the-scenes stories produced in a documentary format. First-generation idols and actors who evoke nostalgia among viewers are expected to appear.
The content planned by I Am Eunyeoni will be streamed live through online platforms. Bilibili, a representative Chinese video platform, is currently listed on the U.S. Nasdaq. It has a market capitalization of approximately 19.7 trillion KRW, with Alibaba Group holding a 24% stake.
Additionally, in the Southeast Asian region, the content will be released through global video platforms TikTok and VIU.
An I Am Eunyeoni official stated, "We are planning the entry of Hallyu stars into China through online channels amid difficulties in activities within China due to COVID-19," and added, "Since there has been no supply of Hallyu content to the Chinese market for some time, we expect a strong response."
