Gangdong-gu Opens Ai·Mom Gangdong Childcare City 4th Branch Supporting Healthy and Happy Parenting Culture... Comprehensive Childcare Services Including Free Play for Infants and Toddlers, Counseling, and Parent Self-Help Groups
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) held an opening ceremony on the 9th for the ‘Ai·Mom Gangdong Childcare City Cheonho Park Branch,’ a childcare complex community facility where infants, toddlers, and parents can freely play and share childcare information.
Since last year, Gangdong-gu has been operating the Ai·Mom Gangdong Childcare City branches, with the first branch in Seongnae and the second in Cheonho. Following the recently opened third branch in Gangil, the fourth branch, Cheonho Park, opened on the 9th.
The Ai·Mom Gangdong Childcare City Cheonho Park Branch has an exclusive area of 204.6㎡ and is located on the 5th floor of the Cheonho 2-dong Community Center (698 Olympic-ro). It consists of an ‘Open Playground’ where infants and toddlers can play freely, a self-help meeting space for parents to share childcare information, and the ‘Ai Jarumteo,’ which offers various play experience programs by age group.
The facility operates from Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with a lunch break from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM during which operations are temporarily suspended. (Closed on Sundays, Mondays, and public holidays.) The facility is freely available to children aged 0 to pre-school age and their parents, as well as related childcare institutions.
Currently, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, program operations at the facility are suspended; however, starting from the 9th, the Open Playground at the Cheonho Park Branch will partially operate through advance reservations made via the Gangdong Children’s Hall website. To comply with quarantine guidelines and maintain social distancing, only a small number of people will be accepted per reservation, with two sessions held in the morning and afternoon. The operation schedule may change depending on the COVID-19 situation.
Lee Jeong-hoon, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, said, “We hope that the Ai·Mom Gangdong Childcare City will serve as a hub to spread a healthy and happy parenting culture in the region,” adding, “We will continue to systematically promote childbirth, childcare, and family-friendly policies to make Gangdong-gu a great place to raise children.”
