Gyeonggi-do Produces and Distributes Climate Change Textbooks for Elementary Schools
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province, in collaboration with the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, will produce a climate change education textbook for elementary school students and distribute it starting next year.
This textbook, designed for 3rd and 4th graders, will include content aimed at fostering integrated thinking about climate change and the environment, as well as encouraging environmental protection practices in daily life.
Starting this month, the production of the textbook will begin in earnest, with completion planned by the end of the year, and distribution to frontline schools through the provincial and local education offices from next year.
To increase the utilization rate of the textbook in schools, certification as an authorized textbook will also be pursued.
An authorized textbook is an educational book recognized by the Minister of Education for use when there is no national or certified textbook available, or when it is difficult to use them or supplementation is needed.
