[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kang Sharon] In Gyeongnam, confirmed cases of COVID-19 among foreign nationals entering from overseas are occurring consecutively.
The province announced on the 10th that a man in his 30s of Uzbek nationality residing in Gimhae City tested positive for COVID-19.
The man entered through Incheon Airport on the 7th and was asymptomatic at the time of entry, so he was not tested during the quarantine process.
After arriving at Busan Station via a dedicated train for overseas arrivals from Incheon Airport, he used a transport vehicle for overseas arrivals to move to the Gimhae City Public Health Center, where he was tested and confirmed positive.
The driver and two passengers of the vehicle who shared overlapping routes tested negative.
The man is hospitalized and receiving treatment at Masan Medical Center, bringing the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the province to 141, of which 129 have been discharged and 12 remain hospitalized.
From 6 p.m. today, gatherings and events other than regular worship services at churches are prohibited, as well as group meals, and compliance with quarantine rules such as wearing masks is mandatory.
There are a total of 2,585 churches confirmed in the Gyeongnam area.
Kim Myung-seop, the provincial spokesperson, urged, "Although it may be somewhat inconvenient, please comply with the quarantine rules to protect your own and your neighbors' safety."
