Gwangju City Conducts Mining and Manufacturing Survey Based on 2019 Data
From the 13th to the 14th of next month... Targeting 1,067 businesses with 10 or more employees
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 8th that it will conduct the "2019 Mining and Manufacturing Survey" from the 13th of this month to the 14th of next month.
This survey is a nationally approved statistical survey conducted annually since 1968 under the supervision of Statistics Korea, and is used as basic data necessary for economic policy formulation and related industry research and analysis.
The survey targets all mining and manufacturing businesses with 10 or more employees as of the end of December 2019, totaling 1,067 businesses that had production performance for at least one month last year.
The survey items include 14 categories such as business name, organizational form, number of employees, annual salary amount, and non-operating expenses. The data collected in the survey will be used only for statistical compilation purposes in accordance with Article 33 of the Statistics Act.
The survey will be conducted through face-to-face interviews where surveyors visit businesses to fill out questionnaires, as well as online surveys.
In particular, considering the difficulties of the survey amid the implementation of "social distancing" due to the spread of COVID-19, non-face-to-face surveys will also be considered if necessary.
Gwangju City conducted a survey on 1,264 companies in 26 fields of mining and manufacturing based on 2018 data. The results of the 2019 survey are scheduled to be announced by Statistics Korea after December.
