Turkey Reports 1,053 New COVID-19 Cases... Slight Decline Observed

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] The number of new COVID-19 cases in Turkey has remained in the 1,000s for the second consecutive day.
On the 8th (local time), the Turkish Ministry of Health announced that the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases increased by 1,053 compared to the previous day. This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 207,897. The cumulative death toll also rose by 19 from the previous day, reaching 5,260.
Turkey's daily new cases had stayed in the 700-800 range in early last month. However, as restrictions were eased, including the reopening of restaurants and cafes, the number rose to as high as 1,500 in mid-last month. Since then, it has gradually been decreasing.
The Turkish health authorities reported that 50,545 COVID-19 diagnostic tests were conducted in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of tests to 3,733,128.

The total number of recovered patients is 185,292. The recovery rate is approximately 89%.
