UAE Foreign Minister's Visit to Korea, First Since COVID-19 Outbreak
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] A video conference for overseas diplomatic missions around the world will be held for the first time.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 8th, a meeting connecting 140 to 150 overseas diplomatic missions via video will be held at 9 AM and 9 PM on the 9th. It is reported that Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun will also speak at this meeting.
At this meeting, participants are expected to evaluate the situation of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and discuss response measures.
So far, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has held about 20 regional video meetings of heads of diplomatic missions chaired by Minister Kang Kyung-wha to check local situations and seek response plans.
