The Daegu City Anti-Corruption Council in the Safety Sector, which includes a total of 22 organizations such as Daegu City, each district and county, the City Office of Education, four local public enterprises, and eight specialized institutions, is a consultative body that oversees and supports anti-corruption work in the local safety sector.
With the launch of this council, a cooperative system will be established through networking among related organizations for role-sharing and information sharing for safety corruption surveys, joint inspections, and other collaborations. It will also oversee anti-corruption tasks such as selecting priority tasks considering the level of risk of safety corruption confirmed through the survey.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety formed the 'Pan-Government Anti-Corruption Council in the Safety Sector,' a consultative body between central ministries and cities/provinces, in October 2018 as part of the government's important anti-corruption policy 'Eradication of Everyday Evils' to eliminate 'safety corruption.' Through this, when safety accidents are a concern due to the relaxation or abolition of existing regulations or insufficient regulations, safety regulations have been adjusted in cooperation with related ministries.
