Justin, Canada Prime Minister, "Suspension of Extradition Treaty with Hong Kong"
[Asia Economy New York=Correspondent Baek Jong-min] Canada has initiated sanctions against China in response to the implementation of the Hong Kong National Security Law (Hong Kong Security Law).
On the 3rd (local time), Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told reporters, "Canada will suspend the Canada-Hong Kong Extradition Treaty." Hong Kong has extradition treaties with more than 30 countries worldwide, and Canada is the first to announce suspension of these treaties following the enforcement of the Hong Kong Security Law.
Prime Minister Trudeau also said, "Canada is a staunch supporter of the One Country, Two Systems principle," adding, "Canada will not authorize the export of sensitive military goods to Hong Kong, just as it does to mainland China."

He stated, "We are also considering other measures, including those related to immigration," expressing his intention to introduce additional measures to encourage immigration of Hong Kong residents to Canada.
