Gyeongsan City Expands Resident Reporting System for Illegal Parking in 'Children Protection Zones'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Young-wook] Gyeongsan City, Gyeongsangbuk-do announced that it has expanded the 'Illegal Parking Resident Reporting System' to include school zones starting from the 29th.
This expansion of the resident reporting system targets vehicles illegally parked on roads designated as school zones, specifically from the front gate of elementary schools to the points where these roads intersect with other roads. The operating hours are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays, excluding weekends and public holidays.
Reports can be made through the Safe Report app by taking two photos at one-minute intervals. The fine for passenger cars is 80,000 KRW, which is double the amount for general roads. The four major illegal parking prohibition zones continue to operate 24 hours a day as before.
The expanded illegal parking resident reporting system in school zones will have an educational period until July 31, and fines will be imposed starting from reports received on August 3.

Lee Jong-man, Director of the Traffic Administration Division of Gyeongsan City, stated, “To strengthen children's traffic safety, voluntary compliance with parking regulations is needed more than resident reports of illegal parking, and active participation and cooperation from citizens are essential.”
