“Busan Gijang-gun Ppareune” Gives and Completes ‘Disaster Relief Income’ the Fastest
Basic Disaster Income for Gijang Type, Payment Starts in March and Completes by End of June
Additionally, Payment Expanded to New Residents from March 28 to April 30
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Among local governments nationwide, Busan's Gijang-gun, which was the first to start distributing disaster basic income, has completed 100% of the payments. They have also decided to accept additional payment applications.
Gijang-gun announced on the 30th that the payment of the 'Gijang-type Disaster Basic Income,' which began nationwide for the first time on March 27, has been completed except for those who did not apply.
Gijang-gun has prepared relief measures through the ordinance revision procedure in June for those who could not receive disaster basic income due to different payment reference dates among cities, districts, and counties, including new residents and marriage immigrants.
The additional payment recipients include approximately 2,500 people: 354 marriage immigrants (non-citizens) registered as residents (or staying) in Gijang-gun as of the application date between March 28 and April 30, 114 permanent resident foreigners, 128 foreign nationals, 46 newborns, and 1,858 new residents.
Applications for additional payments can be submitted at the administrative welfare centers in the applicant's address town or township starting July 6. Those who have already received support at their previous address will be excluded from eligibility to ensure fairness.
Oh Gyu-seok, the mayor of Gijang-gun, said, "This decision to be the first to distribute the Gijang-type Disaster Basic Income will be an opportunity for residents to take pride in being citizens of Gijang-gun," adding, "We plan to promptly distribute the payments so that no one is left out within the Gijang-gun community."
