Damyang-gun Prepares for Completion of 'Advanced Cultural Complex'
The Nation's Largest Rural Housing Complex
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Damyang-gun, Jeonnam (Governor Choi Hyungsik) is about to complete the nation's largest-scale rural housing complex and advanced cultural complex.
According to the county on the 30th, the advanced cultural complex, covering approximately 1,276,000 pyeong (about 4,214,000 square meters) with around 1,400 households including 680 apartment units scheduled for occupancy by the end of the year, began feasibility studies in 2011, underwent five years of administrative procedures, and started construction in 2017.
To promote early activation of the project site, phased partial completion is underway. The first phase, consisting of 355 single-family housing lots, has been completed, and about 50 households are actively under construction after obtaining building permits.
The second phase on the east side of the project site has completed major construction, and finishing works are underway to address anticipated issues after occupancy.
Administrative procedures necessary for completion are planned to be finalized by the end of next month.

The advanced cultural complex currently shows a 99 percent sales rate, and with various complex commercial facilities such as the Faistone International Academy scheduled to open in 2022, it is expected to have a significant impact on population growth and regional economic revitalization in Damyang.
