Changwon City to Hold the 10th Changwon Citizens' Day Ceremony on July 1
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] Marking the 10th anniversary of its unification, Changwon City will hold the ‘10th Changwon Citizens' Day Commemoration Ceremony’ at Changwon Square starting at 7:30 PM on July 1.
The city established the Changwon Citizens' Day Ordinance on March 31, 2011, designating July 1 each year as ‘Changwon Citizens' Day’ and holding commemorative events. Notably, this year’s 10th Changwon Citizens' Day Commemoration Ceremony will be held at Changwon Square for the first time.
Given the special circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, the city plans to actively implement quarantine measures such as disinfecting the venue beforehand, checking attendees' temperatures, and maintaining distance between seats.
To prevent COVID-19, the city has drawn attention by sending invitations in advance to participating volunteer medical staff, donors, and benevolent landlords.

Kim Hwa-young, Director of Changwon City's Autonomous Administration Division, stated, “Due to COVID-19 prevention measures, we inevitably have to limit the number of attendees for the Citizens' Day Commemoration Ceremony, and we ask for the citizens’ understanding. We will prepare next year’s ceremony as an event that all citizens can participate in together.”
