Yeonggwang-gun Selects Recipients for Youth Employment Activity Allowance
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeon Seong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Jun-seong) announced on the 29th that it has selected 42 recipients for the ‘Youth Employment Activity Allowance Support Project,’ which provides up to 500,000 KRW per month for a maximum of six months to unemployed youth for job-seeking activity expenses.
The Youth Employment Activity Allowance is a project funded 100% by the county to support unemployed youth with expenses related to job-seeking activities such as education fees, textbook fees, interview fees, and transportation costs.
The county recruited unemployed youth aged between 18 and 45 from the 2nd to the 17th of this month and finalized the recipients after document screening, which included verification of unemployment benefit recipients, participation in the Employment Success Package, participation in the Jeonnam Youth Job-Seeking Activity Allowance, and households with income below 150% of the median income.
Each selected recipient will receive 3 million KRW (500,000 KRW per month for 6 months) paid through the Yeonggwang Love Card (1.8 million KRW) and cash (1.2 million KRW).
Youth Employment Activity Allowance recipients must submit a monthly job-seeking activity report to the county to continue receiving the allowance. Payment of the allowance will be suspended if the recipient moves out, enrolls in school, gains employment or starts a business, or fails to submit the job-seeking activity report after selection.
