[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] Kim Chang-ryong, the chief of the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency who has been nominated as the next Commissioner General of the National Police Agency, has begun full-scale preparations for the parliamentary confirmation hearing.
According to the National Police Agency on the 29th, a preparation team of 14 members has been formed to prepare for Kim's parliamentary confirmation hearing. The team leader is Kim Hak-gwan, head professor of the Korean National Police University (Senior Superintendent).
The preparation team is organized into three teams: the Policy Development Team (led by Ryu Mi-jin, head of the Women's Crime Investigation Division at the National Police Agency), the Personal Response Team (led by Kim Won-tae, head of the Intelligence Division 4 at the National Police Agency), and the Parliamentary Response Team (led by Nam Jae-hyun, head of the Investigation System Reform Team at the National Police Agency).
The preparation team will prepare for the confirmation hearing at the Busan Police Agency, where Kim is currently assigned. The government is expected to send a request for the confirmation hearing for Kim to the National Assembly within this week.
