Two Additional COVID-19 Cases Confirmed in Daejeon...Local Total Reaches 111
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Two new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Daejeon.
According to Daejeon City as of 10 a.m. on the 28th, a man in his 50s (#110) residing in Naedong, Seo-gu, Daejeon, and a man in his 60s (#111) residing in Cheondong, Dong-gu, were each diagnosed with COVID-19.
They are presumed to have been infected through contact with confirmed cases, including family members. Patient #110 is a family member of patients #108 and #109, who were confirmed positive for COVID-19 the day before. They visited the emergency room of Chungnam National University Hospital on the 26th and were diagnosed the following day.
The quarantine authorities confirmed that the family visited the emergency room of Chungnam National University Hospital, temporarily closed the emergency room for thorough disinfection, and conducted an emergency disinfection. In addition, COVID-19 tests were conducted on 38 medical staff who had contact with the confirmed patients’ family members, and all tested negative. These medical staff are currently reported to be in isolation at the hospital.
Patient #111 is understood to have had contact with patient #92 at Dunsan Electronics Town located in Tanbang-dong, Seo-gu, but the exact route of infection has not been identified.
