Gyeonggi-do Sees 56 Companies Compete in Public Delivery App Development Project
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] It has been revealed that 56 companies, including KB Bank and NHN Payco, have applied for the public delivery app construction project promoted by Gyeonggi Province.
Korea Gyeonggi Province Corporation announced on the 26th that a total of 56 companies participated in the recruitment of consortium participants for the 'Public Delivery App Construction Project,' which is being promoted to enhance the convenience of residents' lives and protect the rights and interests of platform workers and small business owners. Among them were 10 representative companies including ▲KB Bank ▲NHN Payco (and 26 other companies such as GS Retail and Mash Korea Co., Ltd.) ▲Interpark ▲Kona I (and 4 other companies including CNT Tech).
Earlier, Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung emphasized the development of the public delivery app from the perspective of digital infrastructure, stating, "The public delivery app is not about the public sector infringing on the private market, but about building a system that benefits franchise stores, workers, and consumers by utilizing public assets such as local currency."
Korea Gyeonggi Province Corporation plans to select a preferred negotiation candidate through an evaluation by a panel of experts in various fields such as information and communication (IT), management, public relations, and industry on the 3rd of next month, targeting seven consortia (companies) that passed the document screening among the 10 consortia (companies) that participated in the recruitment, and then conclude an agreement.
The registration for participation in the public delivery app pilot operation area, which was recruited targeting local governments in the province, has also closed. Six local governments, including Hwaseong and Siheung, participated, and Korea Gyeonggi Province Corporation will select some of these local governments to start the pilot project around September.

Lee Seok-hoon, CEO of Korea Gyeonggi Province Corporation, said, "Through the enthusiastic inquiries from companies during the consortium business operator recruitment process, I felt a heavy responsibility to realize a fair society," and added, "We will blend private capital and technology with Gyeonggi Province's local currency and data to present a successful delivery app."
