Jeju 83 People Mass Food Poisoning... "Cause is Salmonella Bacteria"

According to Jeju Province on the 22nd, among about 400 people who ate gimbap at a snack bar in Jeju city over two days on the 17th and 18th, 83 people received hospital treatment for food poisoning symptoms such as diarrhea and abdominal pain. In particular, 25 of them had severe symptoms and are still hospitalized as of this day.
As a result of an epidemiological investigation conducted by health authorities on the snack bar and the patients, the cause of the mass food poisoning was confirmed to be Salmonella bacteria.
Salmonella bacteria were detected on the cutting board used at the snack bar. Salmonella food poisoning mainly occurs in summer and usually shows symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting, and fever 6 to 72 hours after food intake.
