On the 19th, the volunteer group collected coastal waste such as plastic, discarded fishing nets, and vinyl along a 2 km stretch near Hakampo, going back and forth. Galleria plans to use the recyclable plastic from the 120 bags of waste collected that day to create upcycled furniture. Designer Moon Seung-ji will participate in the production and propose artistic recycling methods for the resources.
This volunteer activity by Galleria was conducted under the campaign named "Right! Ocean." The "Right! Ocean" campaign is part of Galleria's "Right! Galleria" social contribution activities, which have been carried out since 2019 in three main areas: ▲environmental protection ▲respect for life ▲safety culture. Last year, they conducted the environmental protection campaign "Right! Sign" to reduce fine dust.
The "Right! Ocean" campaign is a marine environmental protection activity in collaboration with the World Wide Fund for Nature and furniture designer Moon Seung-ji. Galleria planned this campaign to raise awareness about the risks of increased plastic use due to the surge in disposable products caused by COVID-19 and to alert the public to environmental pollution.
