246 Young Talents Complete Training for Innovative Growth
[Asia Economy Reporter Seolgina Jo] The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 21st that it has produced 246 prospective industrial workforce members in core areas of the 4th industrial revolution through practical training under the '2019 Intensive Training of Young Talent for Innovative Growth' project.
This project is characterized by the participation of educational institutions and demand companies in a consortium form from the early stages of education, and by matching trainees trained through customized curricula designed based on corporate demand and practical project-centered education with employment opportunities.
The training, conducted over six months from November last year for job seekers aged 34 and under, was promoted with the 2019 supplementary budget urgently allocated due to the need to resolve youth unemployment. It consisted of nine courses in core areas of the 4th industrial revolution, including project-based artificial intelligence architect courses and cloud-based big data analysis courses.
The Ministry of Science and ICT stated, "Despite the unprecedented interruptions in education and the challenging transition to online education due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all trainees completed the training safely without a single infection, thanks to the active cooperation of educational institutions and trainees in quarantine measures."
Among the trainees, 57 who demonstrated recognized technical competitiveness succeeded in early employment at leading domestic and international companies such as Hana Financial TI, Hyundai AutoEver, KT, Deloitte, WiseNut, and EasyFarm.
Meanwhile, the graduates will begin full-scale employment linkage activities targeting 404 companies, including Daewoo Information Systems, Jusung Engineering, Samjeong Accounting Corporation, which participated as employment cooperation companies from the early stages of the project, as well as companies seeking employment in digital new technology fields. Each educational institution plans to continue employment support activities such as providing employment information and holding meetings with hiring companies to ensure stable employment linkage for unemployed graduates.
