POSCO Energy Practices Corporate Citizenship Management Philosophy by Supporting Safety Education for Partner Companies
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] POSCO Energy is actively committed to practicing the corporate citizenship management philosophy through win-win cooperation with its partner companies.
On June 17, POSCO Energy visited a partner company located in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province, to conduct safety training aimed at "spreading a safety culture that develops together with partner companies."
The partner company receiving safety training this time is a small-scale partner with fewer than 15 employees and annual sales under 3 billion KRW, which usually faces difficulties in management due to a lack of dedicated safety personnel. POSCO Energy decided to support win-win sharing through education to actively resolve this issue.
The training consisted of safety education and safety consulting, conducted directly by POSCO Energy’s company-wide safety managers. The safety education used videos containing related cases to share the importance of safety, necessary safety inspection items during work, and practical know-how and information on preventive measures. Following this, a Q&A session on laws that small businesses might overlook, such as penalty criteria under the Industrial Safety and Health Act, was held through one-on-one safety consulting.
Jung Chang-sik, Head of Management Support Office at POSCO Energy, stated, “To practice POSCO Group’s management philosophy of ‘corporate citizenship that develops together,’ it is important to create a culture of collaboration with consideration and respect among partner and supplier companies.” He added, “Especially, the importance of safety can never be overemphasized, so we will continue to support safety education to strengthen safety awareness among partner company employees and establish a safety culture.”
Meanwhile, POSCO Energy has been continuously making various efforts to build a win-win system with partner companies. Since February this year, it has implemented a funeral support system for resident partner company employees, and through quarterly full inspections of safety protective gear for partner company employees, it strives to improve partner company welfare and spread a safety culture.
