Daegu City Files Complaint for Obstruction of Epidemiological Investigation in Late February
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] The Daegu Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the 17th that it has arrested two executives of the Shincheonji Daegu Church on charges of deliberately omitting the list of church members during the epidemiological investigation of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and submitting it to the quarantine authorities (violation of the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act).
Additionally, four other executives of the Shincheonji Daegu Church were booked without detention on the same charges.
According to the police investigation, it was confirmed that on February 20, when the quarantine authorities requested the submission of the entire list of Shincheonji Daegu Church members as a measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Mr. A and others deliberately omitted about 100 names from the list before submitting it. Among the approximately 100 omitted members were public officials and social leaders.
