On the morning of the same day, Minister Sung held an emergency first-level meeting to inspect the real economy impact related to North Korea's demolition of the Kaesong inter-Korean joint liaison office the previous day.
According to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, no unusual trends have been confirmed so far in major areas under its jurisdiction, including exports, energy and raw material supply, and industrial production.
Minister Sung said, "While we are doing our utmost to overcome the real economy crisis caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), we are closely monitoring the impact of the deterioration of inter-Korean relations on industrial sites."
He added, "Closely monitor the impact on the real economy such as key industries and exports, communicate with companies, and ensure that the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and related public institutions respond with their best efforts to provide necessary support."

The Ministry plans to monitor the impact of North Korea's actions in real time through the currently operating COVID-19 emergency response task force and establish necessary response and support measures. Together with related organizations, it will also make thorough efforts in safety management of industrial and energy facilities, energy supply stability, and cybersecurity.
