LG Electronics Launches New Dehumidifier Model... '45% Reduced Dehumidifying Time + 8,000 KRW Monthly Electricity Cost'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyewon] LG Electronics announced on the 17th that it has launched three new models of the Whisen Dual Inverter Dehumidifier, which offers faster dehumidification and larger capacity ahead of the rainy season.
The new models feature advanced dual inverter technology that speeds up dehumidification. For the 16ℓ capacity model, the time required to reduce the humidity in a test room at 27℃ from 70% to 40% is approximately 45% shorter compared to the existing 17ℓ general inverter dehumidifier (model number: DQ177PBA).
Among the new models, two (model numbers: DQ200PSAA, DQ200PGAA) have a generous 20ℓ dehumidification capacity. The water tank capacity has also increased by 1ℓ compared to the previous 19ℓ model, now holding 5ℓ, so users do not need to empty the tank frequently.
All three new models are rated as Grade 1 in energy efficiency, making them eligible for the top-efficiency home appliance purchase cost rebate. According to the Korea Energy Agency’s monthly energy cost standards, if the rapid dehumidification mode is used for an average of 5.7 hours daily, the monthly electricity cost is approximately 8,000 KRW for the 20ℓ model and about 6,000 KRW for the 16ℓ model.
Additionally, the new models support wireless internet (Wi-Fi). Customers can connect the dehumidifiers with the LG ThinQ app on their smartphones to check the product status and indoor humidity anytime and anywhere, and control the operation of the dehumidifier.
LG Electronics applied an easy handle at waist height and smoothly moving easy wheels to the new models so that the dehumidifiers can be easily moved and used inside the home. The handle colors are available in gold and silver.
The LG Whisen Dual Inverter Dehumidifier is equipped with various dehumidification modes tailored to different situations, such as 'Smart Dehumidification' which automatically adjusts humidity by sensing indoor moisture, 'Rapid Dehumidification' for quickly drying hot and humid indoor air during the rainy season, 'Low Noise Dehumidification' for quieter operation, and 'Focused Drying' for drying wet shoes and closet gaps.
LG Electronics provides a 10-year free warranty on the inverter compressor of the Whisen dehumidifier, the same as other major home appliances. The new models are priced between 549,000 and 599,000 KRW based on the shipment price.
