The plan is to accelerate the processing of the 3rd supplementary budget bill (supplementary budget) centered on the committees that have been formed first.
At the floor strategy meeting held at the National Assembly on the morning of the 16th, Floor Leader Kim said, "With the election of six standing committee chairs including the Legislation and Judiciary Committee, the 21st National Assembly's long journey has begun with difficulty," adding, "However, operating only six standing committees is far from sufficient to respond to the COVID-19 crisis. We must complete the formation of all 18 standing committees and begin full-scale review of the supplementary budget."
He stated, "From today, the Democratic Party will operate the standing committees on an emergency basis and take full responsibility to overcome the national crisis," and added, "To avoid missing the timing for the supplementary budget, we will start the review with the committees whose chairs have been elected." He continued, "Meetings for the Legislation and Judiciary Committee, Industry and Energy Committee, and Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee are scheduled," emphasizing, "We will proceed with the supplementary budget review swiftly."
Floor Leader Kim also said, "We will expedite the processing of legislation related to people's livelihoods," mentioning, "We will promptly handle five bills related to the December 16 housing stabilization measures including the Housing Act, and also swiftly process the bill concerning North Korean leaflets."
He added, "We announced the plan to expand public Wi-Fi as our number one pledge in the general election," stating, "We plan to expand Wi-Fi to 10,000 public places within this year and nationwide by 2020."
Furthermore, he said, "There is a plan to build big data in 15 fields closely related to citizens' lives such as transportation and healthcare," and added, "We will actively consider establishing a Data Agency and Data Exchange. We will also review measures to activate data trading."
