Kim Seong-won, the United Future Party's senior deputy floor leader, said to reporters immediately after the protest visit to the Speaker's office, "We strongly protested against the unprecedented parliamentary outrage committed by the Speaker and the Democratic Party," and added, "We requested the immediate cancellation and withdrawal of the forcibly assigned standing committee members."
Deputy Floor Leader Kim stated, "We conveyed that we cannot participate in National Assembly activities in the forcibly assigned standing committees, and strongly urged once again that the Speaker should take responsibility and cancel the election of the standing committee chairs to normalize the National Assembly." He added, "We will not attend the standing committees."
