7:30 PM on the 24th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Geon-ju] The Jeonbuk National Intangible Heritage Center announced on the 16th that it will hold the "Korean Peninsula Intangible Nuri" performance, wishing for peace on the Korean Peninsula, at 7:30 PM on the 24th at the Jeonju Heritage Center Grand Theater.
According to the National Intangible Heritage Center, this performance, prepared as a special event commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Korean War, is a rare opportunity to enjoy traditional arts from both South and North Korea under the theme "A Korean Peninsula Community United by Intangible Heritage."
The performance includes Bukcheong Lion Play (National Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 15), a lion dance performed during the first full moon of the lunar year in Bukcheong County, Hamgyeongnam-do; Seodo Sori (National Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 29), a folk song tradition passed down in Hwanghae-do and Pyeongan-do; and North Korean intangible heritage folk songs such as boat songs and Holro Arirang.
In particular, the Heritage Center explained that this event is meaningful as it features performers of national intangible cultural heritage and intangible cultural heritage from the Five Northern Provinces collaborating with defected artists to prepare stages of sound, dance, music, and performance expressing hopes for peace on the Korean Peninsula.
Performers include the renowned singer Yu Ji-sook, known for "Seodo Sori," the Bukcheong Lion Play Preservation Society, the Kim Baek-bong Fan Dance Preservation Society, and numerous defected artists.
