First, Doosan Mobility Innovation (DMI) is striving to advance the performance of its hydrogen fuel cell packs for drones, which were introduced in September 2018. A drone equipped with DMI's hydrogen fuel cell pack was recognized for its performance and potential at the beginning of this year, receiving the 'CES 2020 Best Innovation Award,' and in April, it delivered 1,200 masks to Marado Island from Jeju's main island.
Doosan Group is also making a mark in the collaborative robot market. Collaborative robots work alongside operators without safety fences, enhancing synergy, and are considered promising technology in the Fourth Industrial Revolution era. Doosan Robotics plans to focus on the South China region, the hub of 3C (Computer, Communication, Consumer electronics), together with Chinese automation specialist company Songqing, with which it partnered last year.
Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction plans to develop large gas turbines for power generation, known as the "flower of mechanical engineering," to become an eco-friendly energy company. The 270 MW model currently being developed at Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction's Changwon headquarters will be installed at the Gimpo Combined Heat and Power Plant in 2021 and will undergo a two-year demonstration period after completion. If Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction succeeds in gas turbine performance testing, South Korea will become the fifth country, after the United States, Germany, Japan, and Italy, to possess large gas turbine technology for power generation.
Doosan Infracore has developed the comprehensive control solution 'Concept-X,' which integrates advanced technologies such as video recognition and control, autonomous driving, 5G remote control, drone-based 3D surveying, work volume estimation and allocation, and fault prediction, as well as the construction equipment remote monitoring solution 'Doosan Connect.' Doosan Bobcat is also preparing for innovation at construction sites by introducing 'Max Control,' which allows remote operation of loader equipment via mobile phones.
