[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Park Hee-eun] In Incheon, a 10-year-old elementary school student has tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), and since the infection route is unclear, quarantine authorities are conducting an epidemiological investigation.
Incheon City announced on the 14th that A (10), a 4th-grade elementary school student residing in Gyeyang-gu, tested positive for COVID-19.
Earlier, on the 12th, A showed symptoms of high fever and cough, and the next day, he was tested at a screening clinic in a hospital located in Gyeyang-gu and was confirmed positive on the same day.
Currently, since A's infection route is unclear, authorities are conducting an epidemiological investigation.
A's mother had worked at a Coupang logistics center in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, but recently tested negative and was released from self-quarantine.
A visited a local children's center and a study room located in Gyeyang-gu from the 10th to the 12th and was reported to have stayed at home after 6 p.m.
